A Few Things that You Should Know About Our CEREC Technology

You might not be very familiar with the latest CEREC technology, but it’s improving oral health on both a global and local scale. At Greentree Dental Group, we are extremely proud to offer this technology to our patients.

The Background on the Technology

CEREC was introduced in 1987 and has steadily grown in popularity and innovation ever since. This restorative technique is used worldwide and has enabled dentists to provide over 6 million quality restorations.

In 2008, the American Dental Association (ADA) partnered with the US Navy to use this technology in conjunction with a humanitarian mission to the Pacific. Stocked with supplies and equipment from a variety of medical fields, the US Naval Hospital Ship “Mercy” traveled to a variety of countries in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Patients from the Philippines, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and the Federated States of Micronesia were brought aboard the naval ship and received treatment that they would otherwise have no access to. Four CEREC machines were utilized as part of this Mercy mission—a groundbreaking development for this type of humanitarian relief.

How CEREC makes life simpler

No Impressions & No Temporaries – If you’ve ever received past treatment for a traditional crown, you’ll know how exciting this fact is. CEREC makes it possible to restore the natural strength and beauty of your teeth with absolutely no messy tooth impressions and no temporary crowns. Too good to be true? Absolutely not. CEREC’s Computer Aided Design technology enables your crown to be designed and milled on-site, right at your dentist’s office. As a result, your crown will have a custom fit and phenomenal strength.

Produced With the Finest Materials – CEREC crowns are milled from a porcelain material that not only matches the natural beauty of your teeth but also mimics the composition of your tooth structure. Using this material results in a permanent, convenient, and healthy restoration. In addition, CEREC crowns are chemically bonded to your teeth and will function with an integrity that rivals your natural dentition.

All it Takes is Just One Visit – We saved the best feature for last! With CEREC technology, you’re literally done in one simple visit to the dentist. Every aspect of your dental restoration is completed entirely in-office. There’s no need to schedule a return visit to complete the process. As a result, you’ll save time and avoid the hassle of reserving a second appointment.
