What Our Practice is Doing Right Now

We are so grateful for our community, our patients, and our team right now. During this time, we have had to put so much on hold in our office. We have been redirecting our energy into staying educated regarding the best ways to keep everyone in our community healthy and preparing for the future. We are so thankful for the kindness and understanding that our patients and staff have shown us as we navigate through this crisis.

In cooperation with our government and medical leaders, we have stopped seeing patients for routine hygiene, restorative and cosmetic dental appointments and are only seeing patients for emergencies at this time. Although this has been incredibly difficult for us, one thing that has made it easier for us is knowing why we are doing this.

“A major reason for asking dental offices to shut down is to save PPE. When dentists stop seeing patients it eases the supply problem for masks and gloves that are needed in hospitals.” - Dr. Jody Kear

As many of you know, personal protective equipment (or PPE) like masks and gloves is essential for the safety of our health care workers and their patients. Hospitals have been running out of PPE and it has been nearly impossible for PPE manufacturers to keep up with the demand. Dental offices typically use and stock a lot of these supplies, so limiting dental practices to only seeing patients for emergencies makes more PPE available for hospitals.

We want to do everything we can to keep you safe and help the incredible medical staff members that are working hard to fight the spread of this virus. We at Greentree have donated over 1,000 masks and 10,000 gloves to hospitals and are reaching out to other dentists and dental practices who are generously donating PPE as well. Although this time is incredibly difficult for all of us, we are happy to do all that we can to protect our patients and support medical workers right now.

If you have any questions or know of someone who would like to donate PPE at this time, feel free to call us at (614) 459-5511 and we would be glad to answer questions and make sure extra supplies are delivered to the hospitals that need them.
